National Training of Trainers on National Forest Inventory for REDD+

Pakistan adopts a national definition of ‘Forests’ after a consensus reached among all stakeholders including the representatives of all the four provinces, GB, AJK and FATA. The definition is based on the recommendations of National Working Group that met in August 2017. This was revealed by the Federal Secretary Ministry of Climate Change, Syed Abu Ahmad Akif, at the inaugural session of the four-day-long national level training of trainers on ‘National Forest Inventory’ for Reducing Emissions from Deforestation and Forest Degradation (REDD+). The national training was held by REDD+ office, Ministry of Climate Change (MoCC) Pakistan and Pakistan Forest Institute Peshawar in collaboration with Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI) here at Islamabad.
